Bo Diddley Funeral Held At Weekend

The funeral of Bo Diddley took place this weekend (June 7th) in Florida, after the legendary guitarist passed away last week from heart failure. He was aged 79-years-old.

According to the BBC, Tom Petty sent floral tributes and Eric Burden from The Animals attended, saying: "I've been a fan of his since I was 16, 17 years of age. (His) was probably one of the first records I ever owned."

During the service, which was attended by family and friends, a gospel choir peformed song of his songs. Reports say as the coffin passed through, hundreds clapped and chanted 'Hey Bo Diddley'.

Grandson Gary Mitchell told mourners, "In 1955 he used to keep the crowds rocking and rolling way before Elvis Presley." While Diddley's manager Faith Fusillo told family: "Please know this, because I know Diddley. As much as you loved him, he loved you more."
